The one and only Linda Richman of Coffee Talk. Just seeing her here makes me a little verklempt.
Well, already November 5 and it feels like NoBloPoMo is going to be a very long month. Thirty posts long, in fact. So here’s what I’m thinking. If we’re really going to do this, you as the reader and me as the person who thought thirty days of posts were a good idea, let’s find something interesting to talk about.
Help a blogger out hereβpost your scintillating questions, suggestions and ideas in the comments. Puhleeeze. I’m open to all kinds of topics. Celebrity gossip? Sure. Political ideologies? Uh, okay. Ugliest crocheted tube tops on the Web? Now you’re talking!
Or else I’ll be reduced to a running (ha!) summary of runny noses in my house (we’re down to approximately one nostril now) or throwing out a topic, Linda Richman-style:
“Rhode Island is neither a road nor is it an island. Discuss.”

At least we’ve got Best Shot Monday. I have been shooting my head off recently, so I have plenty to share, but this one just makes me laugh.
Someday, Henry, I have a feeling you’ll be a little more excited about a beautiful girl wrapping her arms around you and holding you close. But I’m okay with that day being a long way away.
For more Best Shot Monday and possibly more toddlers with a deer-in-the-headlights-look, go to Picture This.

We’ve got a couple of runny noses and smoker-hacking coughs over here. I feel your pain.
November 5, 2007 at 10:49 am |
I love Mike Myers. Have you seen “So I Married an Axe Murderer”? It’s one of my favorite movies, although I have to be in just the right mood to fully enjoy it (a few beers help, too). π
November 5, 2007 at 10:52 am |
I love Linda Richmand, I didn’t remember her name but as soon as I saw the picure I started to laugh.
Oh and Henry, really cute lover boy.

Oh, that is hysterical!!! If looks could kill indeed! π But her face is great too…delight in her ‘catch’!
I’ve never seen the Mike Myers character but it looks like it might be worth a search on YouTube.

Classic Henry!
For posting ideas:
For Food Friday, is it too early to start sharing your favorite Thanksgiving recipe classics? Just a thought!
November 5, 2007 at 1:08 pm |

November 5, 2007 at 1:15 pm |
i would love an update on the triplets. also i have been trying to get my hands on “Deceptively Delicious” and “The Sneaky Chef”. has anyone had luck getting these books and are they worth it? are the recipes easy and do the kids eat them?
November 5, 2007 at 1:34 pm |
Hahahahaha! Amazing photo, technically and otherwise. You should totally frame this and give him a hard time over it when he grows up. Haha.
P.S. I saw Molly’s engagement portrait. I love it!! You rock.
November 5, 2007 at 1:35 pm |
Love this picture! Also, ditto on the awesomeness of Molly’s picture.
Radical reconstruction in the South: neither radical nor reconstructive. Discuss.
November 5, 2007 at 1:56 pm |
ROFLOL! That picture is totally hysterical….THAT is what the auther of “a picture’s worth a thousand words” had in mind when he uttered that famous phrase.
Okay, now I’ve just GOT to see the world’s ugliest crochet tube tops. Not that anything will ever take the crazy crown from the knitted willy warmer…
November 5, 2007 at 2:01 pm |
That is a GREAT picture!!
November 5, 2007 at 2:23 pm |
sooooooooooooooo cute. you’re funny. i’m doing nablopomo as well and there’s another blogger “Miss Zoot” who posts prompts every day.
http://nablopomo.ning.com/profile/MissZoot
i haven’t had the need to use her help yet but i probably will later on. π for now i’m just rambling all over the place about my kids. and i thought i was a pretty creative chick. what is it about the challenge that gives me more of a writer’s block?
November 5, 2007 at 2:41 pm |
how about the old question…..if you could invite three people over to dinner, who would they be? alive. dead. real. fiction. no parameters. it’s a fun one.
November 5, 2007 at 2:55 pm |
That is great! I’m so bad and could not commit to the great blogging taking place this month.
You’re keeping up!
November 5, 2007 at 3:24 pm |
ok that expression is PRICELESS! (kudos on molly’s engagement pics as well. they were gorgeous)
ok some NaBloPoMo topics/questions:
What is your greatest fear?
Whom do you most admire and why?
What do you see in your children that you think reflects on you the most (personality wise)?
November 5, 2007 at 3:44 pm |
Oh, I’m so glad I’m a Beta Mom and haven’t signed on for No/mo/slo/mo/whoa/ho! (It’s so easy to judge when the pressure’s off). What about running meme (weird Wednesday – every Wed. you tell the weirdest thing about you/that’s ever happened to you, etc. etc.) Could be a lot smarter than that, but you get the idea.
Food Friday is so awesome – I’m going to jump on board any week now!
November 5, 2007 at 4:33 pm |
Uh….mom? What is she doing????? I love it! That look is priceless.
November 5, 2007 at 5:16 pm |
I just made a PHFGAK sound at work. Yeah, just like that, out loud. That picture is so adorable!
November 5, 2007 at 6:48 pm |
What a sweet picture. Wouldn’t it be awesome if he ended up marrying her? (This is why I am my son’s worst nightmare – not only do I plan his nuptials, I plan other boys’, too.)
Here are a couple of ideas:
What’s the weirdest thing in your purse.
What’s the item in your closet that you just can’t get rid of (even though you really should).
(Both with pictures, please.)
And: Strike up a conversation with a perfect stranger and then tell us about it.
(You can skip the picture on that one.)
November 5, 2007 at 7:24 pm |
oh the facial expression!! that is just too much! great capture π
November 5, 2007 at 8:46 pm |
I love that picture! You have an amazing talent! I saw Molly’s pictures! There are wonderful!!
November 6, 2007 at 1:20 am |
wow that’s a great picture.
you commented over at my place over a week ago, and I’m just now swinging by to say “hey!” sorry it took me so long, but a flaming computer will slow a girl down!
As for topics? I got nothing. which is why I’m busy slamming NoBloPoMo over at my blog. Well, not really. Not too badly, anyhow. π
November 6, 2007 at 10:23 am |
Thiis pic is adorable – why don’t you write about things that have happened with your kids that are funny – I know everyone has good stories about that….also.write what inspires you to blog at alll…
November 6, 2007 at 12:43 pm |
What an adorable picture! I’m pretty sure that my brother and I shared in having that same expression on our face in every single baby photo!
Thanks for stopping by! π
November 6, 2007 at 1:57 pm |

November 6, 2007 at 11:17 pm |
How about “What is your ideal age and why” for a topic…
November 7, 2007 at 10:04 am |
I love that picture. Your picture of candy corn on the NaBloPoMo front page reeled me in. I’m loving the pictures!
Ideas?
What words or phrases did you never thought would spring from your mouth actually have?
What didn’t you know about motherhood do you love? hate? wonder why nobody told you?
What was the first record YOU purchased? Why?
What was the first major event you remember as a kid? (Me, moon landing. Dad pointed up to the moon and told me men were there tonight. I think I said I couldn’t see them!)
If you could have an hour alone with any person in history, who would it be? What would you discuss or do?
November 7, 2007 at 5:15 pm |
I am LOVIN’ Henry’s expression. What a photo capture!

Should we attempt an interpretation of Aristotle on substance that reconciles the position of the Categories with that of Metaphysics Z, or should we decide that the two texts are irreconcilable and interpret each as advocating a distinctive position? ,
