Valentines? Or stealth bombers? You decide.

You know what these are?

These were the beginning of sweet little valentines for Will and Henry’s nearest and dearest.

We cut the paper, and got out the stamps. We found the pink and red ink pads. We colored, and we stamped.

Henry gnawed a little bit on his beeswax crayons and painted a little while we added heart stickers to the valentines.

And then Will decided they were “airplane cruisers” instead, and folded them up and started tossing them around the room.

Good luck with those three boys, Amily.*

Any girls out there want to make valentines with me next year?

* All’s well in Tripletville. Amily is on the rough road to recovery from a difficult c-section, but little squirt Griffin has been hanging out in the room with mom and dad since birth, while big (ger) brothers Philip and Alexander are getting ready to kick that whole NICU scene to the curb. Who needs it when you are big and healthy and ready to give your family a run for the money? If all goes well, the whole family will be heading home together next week!

I LOVE the names. Adorable. Warm wishes to the new Mommy…what a great Valentine’s Day gift!

And Anna, I’ll totally make them with you next year. As long as the boys can come. 🙂

Maybe the airplanes crusiser are a modern day version of Cupid’s arrow?

    Be mine…

  3. Jess Says:

That easel photo is killing me with its cuteness. That is beyond precious. The look of serious concentration! It hurts!

  4. Toonsis Says:

Happy Valentine’s Day! I love the easel too! How romantic.. the valentine crusisers today are tomorrows “I love you” skywriters! Your boys are so cute!

anna, you deserve a medal for even trying to make valentine’s with your kids. i had the twins finger painting at about 5 months old, but the cleaning up after has put an abrupt halt to all things crafty!

Glad to hear all is well in tripletville. LOL about the airplanes. Yeah, kids don’t really seem to get our grand plans. 😉

I will TOTALLY make Valentine’s cards with you next year!!! Can we make brownies, too? (I am making your famous brownies for the first time today, yay!)

Although, I have to say, girls are not always better … I made cards with my niece this year, and she was NOT making hearts and flowers and prettiness … she wanted to draw brown blobs and smear them with glue and through markers. Fun! Also? She took ALL of the rhinestones and wouldn’t let us use them– she said they were DIAMONDS and she was taking them home to put in her treasures box.

  10. Erinne Says:

Wonderful photos! LOL – I love how they crumple everything up to give to you – ha – I got 8 valentine’s from my sweetie boy today – one was even a paper towel roll decorated with hearts – ha!

  11. sdh Says:

you’ll have to borrow Martha and Lilly and Sydney for next year!

Rush would rather have an airplane cruiser valentine than a regular one, though, so maybe Will is on to something…

  12. Rush Says:

Will is TOTALLY on to something with his valentine cruisers. I like his style. And Henry? I love his concentration — I could learn something from him.

  13. Christina Says:

Girls aren’t big on making valentines either. Not two year old girls. Well, not MY two year old girl anyway. Our valentines adventure had about as much success. I ended up doing it mostly myself and saying she did it. 😉

YAY for three healthy little guys! That’s awesome!

  14. Shalet Says:

Boys will be boys! Happy Love Thursday!

  15. Michelle San Antonio (maiden name Theriault) Says:

I made valentines with the boys, too, and what was supposed to be cute little stamped hearts turned into big red blobs, which they then scribbled on top of with markers.

    It’s the thought that counts…..

So for Aidan’s school, they were encouraged to bring in Valentine’s for the class. Renee wanted to make it an art project. I told her she was crazy. Aidan took to it like rembrandt (or, ok, maybe well…aidan). The only problem? he was sick on valentine’s day. So i still had to bring them in. He wanted to make sure his friends got them, even though he was sick.

[…] hot the Opel Manta really is. Evidently it isn’t enough that I have to suffer through valentines-as-paper-airplanes. My father-in-law sent this little gem along today, explaining that I have this kind of thing to […]

I wonder what God is thinking sometimes giving me boys (stepsons) so late in life. There are so many stealth bomber moments……..
